Electrodermal Screening
The development of Electrodermal Screening has come from many sources, including Germany where EAV (Electro Acupuncture according to Voll) was invented. Traditional Chinese acupuncture, homeopathy, homotoxicology, psychoneuroimmunology, the study of connective tissue, as well as physics and electronics have been brought together in the further development of Electrodermal Screening. The combinings of these fields help us determine what happens when we apply to a point on the body and get a response.
My office utilizes a device called the Computron to perform the Electrodermal Screening. In the screening procedure, acupuncture points on the meridians are tested for changes in minute electrical potential or resistance. There is decreased resistance in the skin above the acupuncture points that is measurable.
The Computron introduces a minute, specific electrical current into the body at the point being tested when the probe tip is placed on the skin at the location of the acupuncture point. Based upon the measurement response, it can be determined whether a meridian is in an inflammatory or degenerative state. Also, if the point is unable to hold the charge it will produce an indicator drop (reading on the graph will fall), which indicated that the body is trying very hard to perform more efficiently than it is able to at the time. Since the organ is already under stress, the slight electrical current is enough to decompensate the meridian.
A screening of 40 Master Control Points is done initially at each test, allowing us to perform a “screening physical.” Once these points have been evaluated, further testing is performed along the meridian pathway to further assess the status of specific organs and/or tissues associated with that specific meridian. Once the weakened points have been evaluated, the natural health professional then determines what is stressing that point or points. There can be a variety of stressors, including unresolved bacterial infections, viral infections, parasites, heavy metal overload such as mercury of lead toxicity, food sensitivities, and chemical and/or digestive problems to name a few.
After determining the stressor involved, the natural health professional will determine what the body needs to reduce the stress at the weakened point. This could include, but not limited to, homeopathics, herbal remedies, specific vitamins and/or minerals, amino acids, dietary recommendations, and therapeutic measures including chiropractic, massage therapy, etc.
Advantages of Electrodermal Screening
There are several advantages to Electrodermal Screening, including:
- Functions of the basic system are based upon bioelectrical and energetic principals.
- It’s non-invasive, can be repeated, and does not subject the patient to undue stress.
- Specific laboratory tests can be ordered, if necessary, based upon the findings eliminating the guess-work of “Did I order the right test?”
- Immediate results are available.
- Can identify an energy disturbance or dis-ease process not clinically detected and which by any other means, cannot be found.
- Early, simple, accurate indicator screening.
- Valuable aid in clinical medicine to facilitate preventative and specific measures.
- Acute pain (sciatica, cervical syndromes, etc.) can be remedied immediately without side or after effects.
- In undefined chronic disturbances (migraines, asthma, gout, rheumatism, allergies, etc.) it can test for noxious substances that, applied homeopathically, can result in freedom from pain.
- Since 1965, there is an adequate theoretical basis.
Bioenergetic Medicine
In a government supported study in 1977, Phil Allen in ENERGY, MATTER, AND FORM stated that “Recent evidence shows that our physical body is the mirror image reflection or dense energy pattern manifestation of dynamic processes which occur in our bioenergy field. Since our bodies act as communicative devices, we are constantly receiving and transmitting information coded into energy signals. Changes in our biochemistry field signal the onset of diseases before it occurs physically.”
It is also known that energetic dysfunction at the physical level is reflected by imbalances in the paired acupuncture meridians. The job of the meridians is to distribute the subtle magnetic energies of Chi (or life force), which provides sustenance and organization for the physical structure of each organ system. The acupuncture meridians are not electrical but magnetic in nature, producing electrical fields. As a result, new discoveries in physics, we are now able to understand and recognize the true nature of meridians.
Therefore, the following is evident; First, there is an energetic event, which affects the meridian, which then affects the nervous system, which then causes cellular pathology and dysfunction. With this knowledge, we can identify energetic events that affect the meridian, and therefore identify the cause of pathology and dysfunction. We may even be able to discover the energetic event prior to the occurrence of pathology and dysfunction.
There are many uses for the Computron, including finding patterns of disturbed energy prior to the final effect of cellular pathology. Also, unresolved emotional issues can create energetic imbalances in the physical body which may be identified and treated. Conversely, toxic bioaccumulation or interferences, which cause energetic imbalances, may also affect a a person’s emotional and spiritual state.
This is truly part of the medicine of the future, available today!
